I’m shaving my head.

in Cancer, St. Baldrick's

Yes…you read right.

I’m going to shave my head.

For children.

With cancer.

Please consider donating (or joining my efforts–physically or virtually) to this wonderful cause.

Taken from their website:

What is St. Baldrick’s?
St. Baldrick’s is the world’s largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. Thousands of volunteers shave their heads in solidarity of children with cancer, while requesting donations of support from friends and family.

Yes. I will be shaving my head to show my support for kiddos with cancer. Will you please take a second to donate? I promise, it’s a really worthy cause. You can find their website here

or here

because as of March 20,2010 I (along with my hubby and any other people we can get to help us) will be shaving our heads. If you like, I’ll get it on video. Scary thought. Please though–help! Research for cures takes lots of money….but if we all help we can do it!! My goal is $1,000.00!! Before shaving my head I will be cutting off a ponytail (provided I meet the minimum 10″ guideline) to send to Locks of Love. I would also appreciate it if you would help me get the word out…tweet it (I’m @handshouseheart)…facebook it…but please–help in any way you can!! I’ll be posting more periodically. If you donate let me know I will be adding a scrolling marquee to link to people that contribute a minimum of $10.

What a humble action! I wish I had the courage to do that, but I don't :( Like the comment above, I think a picture would be great and might make me change my mind!

I am SOOOO proud of you! and ya know that hair weighs a lot more than you think. I would love to do this one day, but I'm hoping that my hair gets and stays long until I'm in a Wedding dress.

That is an amazing thing to do – I am so impressed and will be pleased to support you (please ignore the fact that it will say johnsbooksorg). I hope you reach or better your target.

Hi there! I am visiting from the comment you left on my Random Dozen post. So nice to “meet” you! I think you are an amazing, strong, awesome woman to shave your head for children with cancer. I am not sure I could. My niece is soon finishing treatment from her first year of Leukemia. So far, she’s doing well. I will visit again soon!
