Soda Stream Review & Giveaway Closed

OK, a while back I received a Soda Stream system as the result of a giveaway someone else was doing. I had already contacted the company about doing a review and was “granted” the opportunity to do a review right around the same time I was notified I had won the giveaway! I worked with the company and we decided to do a review and a giveaway for my readers!!

We received the Fountain Jet Machine in black and silver. We also received a carbonator, 2 carbonating bottles, 3 SodaMix flavors (Diet, Orange and Ginger Ale) as well as the SodaMix variety 12 pack (samples of their more popular flavors) and a MyWater Essence 3 pack of flavors. We have since tried quite a bit of this. The children enjoy having soda as a treat once in a while–and the fact that it can be made at home seems to make it all the more appealing! They love to take turns picking flavors and helping to push the button to carbonate the water.

I think Soda Stream has come up with a product that does indeed save quite a bit of plastic if you buy soda very often. Rather than buying bottles and bottles of soda you can use your bottles over and over (they are made of heavy plastic) to make your own soda at home! We have made what I consider quite a bit but we also have quite a bit left! One carbonator will carbonate up to 100 liters of soda, and we still have flavors galore left!

I really enjoyed the Pete’s Choice–which to me tastes just like Walmart’s brand of Dr. Pepper. The orange was comparable to orange Fanta. I noticed that for us we had to put extra ginger ale flavoring in to make it taste like a store-bought ginger ale but I haven’t noticed the same with anything else. Another factor in making it at home is that you can control the carbonation level. My husband likes lots of fizz..and I don’t care for quite as much. This way we can each make it to our liking!

I think it’s a neat novelty to have around…and your friends will look at you incredulously when you ask if they would like to make their own soda!
